Having launched the LUCTRA® VITAWORK® workplace lamp in 2018, LUCTRA® is now introducing a version with Human Centric Lighting functionality, featuring the patented VITACORE® electronics developed by LUCTRA®. The light colour can be freely adjusted between 2,700 and 6,500 Kelvin using the touch panel, allowing users to customise the light, both in intensity and colour, to perfectly match their personal requirements. Two new touch functions have been added to the control panel to help make this simple and easy.
Artificial biologically effective light for more comfort
Light has a major impact on our lives. In wide-open nature, at home or in the workplace: Light is just as important for your health as a balanced diet, regular exercise and enough sleep – if it is the right kind of light at the right time of day.
Our biorhythm is controlled by natural daylight. However, most of us spend a lot of time indoors under artificial light. This confuses our rhythm and can cause us to feel unwell or are less proactive during the day. Biologically effective light takes over the role of the sun and supports our personal inner clock with adjustable colours of light. By changing from cold white light (in the morning and at noon, approx. 6,500 Kelvin) to warmer white light (in the evening, approx. 2,700 Kelvin), LUCTRA® VITAWORK® can promote production of hormones in our body that play a vital role for our internal clocks.
By doing this, LUCTRA® light enhances concentration and rest phases, and makes the workplace a more pleasant environment. The result is more satisfied and efficient employees.
High uniformity of light distribution
VITAWORK® is a logical continuation of the LUCTRA® philosophy, bringing latest LED technology to the workplace. The LEDs built into the lamp head provide energy-efficient illumination via a light panel with asymmetrical light distribution. VITAWORK® is therefore also suitable for illuminating larger and more spacious offices. The new LUCTRA® floor lamp fulfils the requirements of both the DIN EN 12464-1 standard and the German workplace ordinance ASR 3.4.
10,000 lumen illuminates the workspace evenly and particularly efficiently in the HCL version. The combination of direct and indirect lighting via the built-in light panel provides even illumination, achieving the natural impression of light.
Additional sensor control saves energy
Operation of this latest LUCTRA® family member can not only be controlled via the touch panel, but also via a light intensity and a presence sensor. While the presence sensor responds to movements, the light intensity sensor continuously compares the natural daylight and the intensity of lighting inside the room with each other. The LEDs in the VITAWORK® adjusts themselves automatically to achieve a consistent, high quality of lighting. Depending on the office environment, the sensor control can help reduce energy consumption by up to 80 percent.
Timeless design
VITAWORK® adopts the unobtrusive, functional design of the LUCTRA® family. With its focus on the quality of the light, the design has deliberately done away with superfluous elements in its outward appearance. The lamp’s clean lines fit perfectly into every interior design and give it added value. The touch panel operating element on the lamp body also comes with a clear design and can be used intuitively. All materials used underline the high quality standard and can be recycled.
The lamp head has deliberately been kept as flat as possible and is surrounded by an edge profile. The lampshades take up the fin structure already known from the LUCTRA® portfolio. The lamp head’s centre of gravity is located very close to the lamp mast and thus provides optimal stability both structurally and visually.
The flush-mounted touch panel with a high-quality plastic surface is clear and simply to use. The lamp can be dimmed variably in the upward and downward direction. With its form, the lamp base fulfils vital functions such as optimal weight distribution and the tilt protection requirements. It also enables optimal positioning near the desk.
The design for this model was also created by the yellow design agency headed by Prof. Günter Horntrich (Cologne).
New white colour version
The LUCTRA® floor lamp is now available in white, in addition to the previous aluminium version. The VITACORE® operating panel in black sets a contrasting colour highlight.
Alternative mount
Some office environments need space-saving lighting solutions. To meet these needs, LUCTRA® offers a version that frees up floor space by eliminating the base: the CLAMP mount. It minimises the lighting solution’s footprint in the workplace. The clamp is easy to fit and holds the lamp head firmly in place. The control panel is easily accessible, located just above the tabletop. Direct attachment to the tabletop makes VITAWORK suitable even for sit-stand desks, as the distance between the lamp head and the desk surface does not change.
Quality made in Germany
Like all LUCTRA® lamps, VITAWORK® is also assembled manually by expert staff at the LUCTRA® production plant in Kamen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). The entire manufacturing process is subject to comprehensive quality management.
