Architects grant design award to mobile LUCTRA® FLEX lamp

LED lamp brand wins AIT innovation award in the category of Architecture + Office // Jury: “This product has the potential to become a classic”

Iserlohn, 31 October 2016: “A single phrase sums it all up: a product previously not missed by anyone has now been recognized as a basic necessity. It fits perfectly into today’s working world, where the main emphasis is on mobile and activity-based work. We view the personalisation of light in terms of mobility and quality as this product’s innovative feature. This product has the potential to become a classic”, is how the jury explained its decision to grant the AIT Innovation Award to LUCTRA® FLEX on 26 October 2016 at the Orgatec in Cologne.

LUCTRA® FLEX by DURABLE is the cordless, portable, biologically effective lighting solution for mobile working in the office or at home. The integrated lithium-ion battery supplies the lamp with power for up to nine hours. LUCTRA® FLEX gives you complete freedom when choosing where to work, without compromising on the quality of the light. Cool and warm white LEDs with light intensity up to 1,000 lux, very even light distribution, and an extremely wide colour spectrum between 2,700 and 6,500 Kelvin deliver light that approaches daylight in quality. The colour and brightness can always be adjusted for your personal comfort so you can concentrate better and work more productively without becoming fatigued.

Just like the well-established LUCTRA® table and floor lamps, LUCTRA® FLEX is equipped with intuitive VITACORE® electronic technology for personalized adjustment of the brightness and colour of the light. With a height of 136 cm, the cordless workplace lamp weighs a manageable 2 kilogrammes. The product is available in orange, aluminium, black and white.

The architecture and design contest was held for the ninth consecutive time. It addresses designers and manufacturers of innovative products in the areas of office furniture, office lamps and commercial property flooring. Award winners are products and solutions which meet the demands and needs of architects in a special way. Important assessment criteria are functional and creative quality, technical innovation and versatility for multi-purpose use. The jury consists exclusively of representatives from renowned bureaux of architecture.

“This prize is a very special distinction for us, since it is awarded by architects. They are a vital target group for us, and this award now confirms the success of our approach and product development,” says Horst-Werner Maier-Hunke, Managing Director of DURABLE.
